Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Grimsby

St James Fish Restaurant

6-8 Brighowgate, Grimsby DN32 0QX, UK – 01472 350702

The restaurant was clean and the staff friendly. The haddock and chip meal was very nice. Batter was thin and tasty, fish large and fresh. Price was reasonable.

Local fish and chips at a very affordable price. Sadly, one of the few remaining Fish and Chips shops in the town centre but a good one at that. Furthermore, if you would like to sit down and eat your meal, there is a very clean and private restaurant situated there, that also provides table service at a very reasonable cost.

Caspers Restaurant

102 Victoria St W, Grimsby DN31 1BA, UK – 01472 242422

Superb service and outstanding food for a very reasonable price . Absolutely fantastic restaurant , recommend it to everyone

Just finished a meal here and the service matched the food - really impressed. Don't fall into the trap I did and order too much. And if you do, don't fall into the same trap and eat the lot. Overall, really impressed.

Nice restaurant, good food.... However couldn't rate higher because they only accept cash which can be inconvenient. Also it's a very narrow room and the menus are all on the wall, which can be awkward when you're trying to eat your meal and you have people standing next to your table trying to read the blackboard menus on the walls, which is quite off-putting. This is a negative for me when it's busy and it could easily be rectified by putting photocopied menus on the tables which would be much less intrusive for people already eating and trying to enjoy their meals.

Simply five star food and customer service. Every course I ate was delicious. For starters the Thai Chicken Satay came with a very tasty peanut sauce. The main course fillet steak was cooked exactly as I like it, medium-rare and nicely seasoned. And as the steak was so good, the tasty pepercorn sauce made great dipping for the hand-cut chips. Definitely recommend the sharing platter for desert so you don't miss out.
